Quiet

Time bound in boredom,
Frozen in sand.
Standing still on jade peaks
Turned to grey.
Looking out windows without leaving.
Slight speak wrapped in newspaper
To rifle through slats of stifled thought.

Underwhelmed

Simple statements.
Humming Claire de Lune while
Walking across pillows of broken glass.
Smooth talk with iridescent skin.
They say elephants never forget,
Pain isn't easily erased.
Truth illuminated or not.
Raw silk that can never be refined,
You won't let it be
Because I would see you.
But I do.
Failed intoxication,
Please, fooling me feels.
Golden apples ripped from thought;
But you meant it that way.

Waking

Floating whether you are on the ground
Or in the air.
It isn't about where you are
Or what you are doing
But how you are doing it.
The feeling you get when you let go of the bars
When you ride the roller-coaster.
Literal.
Or figurative.
Sometimes it makes you hold your breath;
Other times you can just exhale,
And pause before you breathe again.
Like when you feel like you are falling in your sleep
And you wake-up to find you are still there
But you weren't sure for a second.

Sides

Sometimes I can't tell
Who's right
Or who's wrong.
I side with myself,
Because I must be right if
I feel so strongly about it.
The strong feeling is gone
As quickly as it started.
A single instance of doubt,
Guilt sets in.
How could I be so unreasonable?
Self-doubt and self-loathing.
I wish I could take it back.
I can't.
Angry with myself.
It all breaks.
Down I
slide. Not
Wanting to deal.

Memory

Stop, no, that can't be right. Wait
Don't run, or am I supposed to?
Momentary forgetfulness at the
Sight of anticipated anxiety.

You body remembers
And you don't. There
Is a difference- but
I thought it happened the other
Way round.
